HOW DID YOU GET HERE?

I am originally from Memphis, TN where I received my undergraduate degree in early childhood education from the University of Memphis and my Master’s of Education degree from Union University. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I have been exploring the role of educator in some capacity since 2001. I moved to Lafayette in 2007 where I eventually made the switch from elementary teacher to university supervisor and lecturer here at Purdue University. I am thrilled to be able to continue exploring my gifts and helping others in their journeys.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT THE CCO?

I love the variety of the work, meeting new people, and exploring the Purdue community and all of its many resources.

WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL JOB YOU HAVE EVER HAD?

Putting together bouquets and gift baskets at a flower shop

ADVICE FOR STUDENTS:

Take the time to invest yourself in the community, whether it’s joining a local organization, taking a class to learn a new skill, or exploring local NICHES properties to find out more about our relationship to the natural world. This will open up so many possibilities, connections, and interests to guide your journey.

QUOTE YOU LIVE BY:

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” – Maya Angelou

FUN FACT:

I don’t have a sense of smell. I once got a small role in a local horror movie (my favorite genre)! I used to be on a roller derby team.

FAVORITE THINGS:

Some of my favorite things are art, music, nature, camping, biking, hiking, reading, my rainbow garden, walking my dog (Gator), and trying new things.
