While the CCO serves as the central source of information, most of the career fairs held at Purdue University are run by student organizations or the colleges, schools and departments. The School of Construction Management Career Fair is held twice yearly (spring and fall) for employers seeking to fill full-time, intern, and co-op positions with students from the Building Construction Management (BCM) program, which is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the nation. At a typical SCMT Career Fair, over 500 students attend to engage with up to 150 construction companies from across the country.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management hosts a Fall and Spring Career Fairs held every September and February. The Fall fair is held in partnership with The Department of Consumer Science attracting a greater diversity of companies and qualified students than did separate fairs. The Spring Fairs are hosted solely by The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and are a series of three mini career fairs held in Marriott Hall. Recruiters can pick the date that best fits their schedule. The fairs provide recruiters the opportunity to network and interview candidates for internships and permanent positions. Companies attending any of fairs will have the opportunity to pre-select or fill schedule(s) at the career fair(s) for interviews held the following day. Students are encouraged to attend all four fairs as part of their efforts to secure required internships/permanent positions and for the valuable networking experience with recruiters.
